Anti-Bullying Survey
What is bullying?
Bullying takes on many forms. According to the DCSF sponsored Beat Bullying website, some of the most common are:
- Teasing and name calling
- Damaging personal possessions
- Spreading rumours
- Leaving someone out of a group
- Threatening someone or causing bodily harm
This list doesn't cover everything, because there are many ways that someone who bullies can get to their target.
Bullying doesn't even have to happen in person. Silent phone calls or abusive texts or email can be just as distressing as being bullied face-to-face.
How our surveys can help
Our anti-bullying surveys are designed to probe all the facets of bullying and try to determine the type, extent and cause of the bullying.
They will examine:
- The nature of bullying in the school
- It's manifestation and frequency
- Pupil attitudes towards bullies and bullying
- Pupils understanding of the nature and impact of bullying
- Pupils perceptions of the schools' attitude towards bullying
Results are analysed by year and gender and additionally by ethnic group if desired. A behavioural consultant can also provide an optional written report.
Pro-active not Reactive
As our surveys also include definitions of bullying along with examples, they will also serve the purpose of raising awareness of the different types, and less obvious forms of bullying.
They are an excellent way to launch an anti-bullying strategy or awareness campaign.
